Mission of PSTA

The purpose of the PSTA is to:

  • Promote the sciences and science education in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania;
  • Promote professional ethics and cooperation among all persons interested in the sciences and science education;
  • To promote excellence among teachers of science through professional development opportunities;
  • Recognize leadership in the sciences and science education; and
  • Assist in the development of outstanding science talent in pupils by encouraging them to engage in the sciences through participation in science and technology initiatives designed for student participation.


Benefits of PSTA

PSTA members receive the following benefits:

  • PSTA ensures that voices of science teachers are included in decisions made at the state level that affect science education.

  • Collaboration with professionals and colleagues in your field in order to share invigorating stories and informative classroom successes or seek guidance from your fellow peers

  • Access to the member-only privileges such as: newsletter, grants, awards, professional development, standard and assessment notification, and/or board leadership opportunities. 

  • Discounted admission and/or membership to PSTA/NSTA, conferences, workshops

  • Become part of a long-standing science organization that encourages quality science teaching. 

  • Annual membership is only $25.00!!
