Informative, Fun and Free! Please come and join us on Saturday, Sept. 16th for the PSTA Drive-In Workshop at IUP. Have your questions about science classroom/lab safety and OSHA regulations finally addressed by a Safety Science expert. Knowledge about this important issue is fundamental for all pre-service and in-service teachers. You will choose your second session. The first presenter will describe some successful community engagement projects, how to identify organizations and projects and ways to assess the impact of community-based science projects. The second presenter will share reading comprehension strategies which improve student understanding of science content. These include: See Think Wonder, Sketch to Stretch and Vocabulary Card Sorts and Stories. An informal, un-conference style share-a-thon will follow. Attendees will determine the agenda and learn from each other. Come with questions or ideas about specific topics you want to learn more about, as well as some favorite teaching methods and materials to share. Pre-registration is requested in deference to the speakers. You can renew your PSTA membership or become a new member on-site that day. (cash or check) Hope to see you there!
