Awards 2026 Call for PSTA Award Nominations PSTA is committed to rewarding excellence in science teaching and leadership. We are looking for nominations for five awards. Nominations are due June 15th. Those nominated will be notified by the board of directors with completed applications due July 15th. Applicants must be nominated by a current member of PSTA or an administrator of a current PSTA member. If you (the nominator) are not currently a member of PSTA, please visit pascience.org to renew your membership before nominating. Email pstaboard@gmail.com PSTA Awards Since PSTA hosted the NSTA Conference in March 2025, our organization did not hold a separate state conference during the 2024 school year. However, during the 2025 State Conference on Monday, October 13, PSTA was proud to recognize and announce the award recipients from both the 2024 and 2025 cycles. The Donald Keys Excellence in Science Teaching Award The Donald Keys Excellence in Science Teaching Award has been established to recognize up to four teachers who demonstrate outstanding teaching of science, one from each level: elementary school, middle school, high school, and higher education. 2024 Awardees Elizabeth Ann Kirman - Lower Dauphin School District (High School) Anthony Prinzo - West Chester Area School District (High School) 2025 Awardees Caroline Combemale - Seneca Valley School District (Middle School) Dr. Octavia L. Blount - School District of Philadelphia (High School) Gabryella Wilder - Northern Lehigh School District (High School) Dr. John Pollock - Duquesne University (Higher Education) The Pennsylvania Science Administrator of the Year Award is designed to recognize ongoing excellence in the role of administrator of science education and commitment to its improvement.
